OSU Alumni Recognition

Tiffany was featured as a distinguished alumni from the Communication Sciences and Disorders department in the spring 2019 quarterly newsletter at Oklahoma State University.

ASHA Leader Publication

SNR's owner Tiffany Turner wrote an article for the ASHA Leader, a monthly magazine for nationally certified speech-language pathologists published by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. The article is entitled "Widening Her Circle" and tells the story of SNR's beginning. It was published in the August 2018 edition.

"Swallow Your Pride" Podcast Interview

The "Swallow Your Pride" podcast by Theresa Richard, M.A., CCC-SLP, BCS-S is a free educational series to help speech pathologists worldwide stay current ​with evidence-based practices in dysphagia.

 

Each week Theresa interviews different guest speakers ranging from SLPs who specialize in different niche areas of dysphagia to ENTs and other related specialists. SNR's owner Tiffany Turner was invited to give a guest talk for the podcast. The discussion covered the SNR clinic, FEES swallow studies, treatment of progressive neuromuscular conditions (ALS, muscular dystrophy, etc.), and the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach to rehabilitation. Episode 28 aired in Feb. 2018 and is available to be downloaded in iTunes or can be streamed online for free here.

Oklahoma NextGen Under 30 Award Recipient

On Oct. 20, 2017, SNR's owner Tiffany Turner was awarded the Oklahoma NextGen Under 30 award for the Healthcare category. NextGen Under 30 recognizes young professional leaders throughout Oklahoma in various industries.

Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing

On September 7, 2017, Tiffany was awarded specialty certification through the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (ABSSD), making her the 4th adult focused swallowing specialist in Oklahoma. Most of the other 11 swallowing specialists in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas are in university settings as professors or researchers, so Tiffany is looking forward to using this advanced certification to continue to advocate and provide resources and services to patients with dysphagia throughout the region. NFOSD Awareness Campaign

June is Dysphagia Awareness Month, and the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders is campaigning to raise awareness of dysphagia while also generating donations for research in the area of swallowing disorders by sharing photo facts of the day throughout the month of June. SNR sponsored a photo fact on June 9, 2017 to help raise awareness of dysphagia on the national level by pledging a donation for each share of this photo fact on social media. Visit the NFOSD's Facebook page to view our and every other photo fact of the day throughout this month to help raise awareness and funding for dysphagia.

Golf Channel Special on SNR Patient's Recovery

The Golf Channel came to SNR in November of 2016 to film a therapy session with one of our star patients for a special they're filming on the story of his recovery after a severe traumatic brain injury. Traden has had an incredible recovery journey, and we've had the pleasure of working with him and seeing his progress firsthand. He is such an inspiration to all of us at SNR, and this family's testimonial is so special to us#PrayingForTraden

Article with National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders

Tiffany Turner guest authored an article for the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders entitled, "Deciphering Dysphagia," which explains the basics of swallowing and the available treatment options.

Interview in Vintage Magazine

Tiffany was contacted last month to complete an interview with Vintage magazine, a monthly senior newsmagazine produced by Life Senior Services, and it was published in the August 2016 edition.

Tiffany discussed speech pathology services with seniors, ranging from swallowing and voice symptoms with normal aging to pathologies such as Parkinson's disease, ALS, and dementia.  Here is the link to the article containing the full interview (page 26). If you have any questions, please ask and we would be happy to help.
